Three of Marriott International’s brands have earned LEED Volume pre-certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. The Volume Program provides a streamlined path to LEED certification for a large group of properties based on a pre-approved prototype and process. The brands, Courtyard, Towneplace Suites, and Residence Inn, will help Marriott achieve its goal of 300 LEED-certified hotels by 2015.

The Home Depot Foundation is giving $1 million in grants to veterans’ initiatives each Monday until November 11th, Veterans Day. “Celebration of Service,” which started September 11th, awards grants to nonprofits dedicated to addressing the critical housing needs of U.S. military veterans. The $9 million program is part of the Foundation’s commitment of $30 million dollars over three years
