Hello, I’m Emily Polk, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Tuesday, November 30th:

Marks and Spencer is on track with its plans to become the world’s most sustainable major retailer by 2015. Plan A, the UK company’s sustainability strategy launched three years ago, uses 400 aerodynamic trucks that carry 10 percent more stock with 10 percent improved fuel efficiency, cutting the company’s carbon footprint by 2,300 tons a year. By 2012, Mark and Spencer aims to send zero waste to landfill, with all of its operational waste being recycled.

Climate Counts is launching a “Striding Shopper Campaign” to help consumers use their holiday dollars to support companies taking climate action. For the next five weeks, Climate Counts will inform consumers about the climate action—or inactions—of 150 scored companies representing over 3,000 brands. Climate Counts will work with its partnering nonprofits, TckTckTck, ICCR, Kids versus Global Warming, and Brighter Planet to connect consumers with companies making good climate choices.
