Hello, I’m Emily Polk, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Tuesday, November 16th:

The Alternative Fuels Trade Alliance is holding a workshop for fleet managers today in Arlington, Texas. The meeting is the eighth in a nationwide series of 14 training seminars funded by a $1.6 million dollar grant from the Energy Department. The workshops address alternative fuel quality, safety, the latest technologies and  environmental impact. A special focus of today’s program is propane autogas, the mostly widely used alternative fuel.

Algonquin College is holding its third annual Corporate and Community Social Responsibility conference today at its campus in Ottawa. This year’s theme is “Achieving Social Innovation through Corporate and Community Collaboration.” Results from an Abacus Data National Poll, sponsored by the college, were released last week. The highlights include findings that 50 percent of Canadians surveyed would take a pay cut to work for a socially responsible company, and that a majority of Canadians would spend up to 12 percent more for a product or service from a socially responsible company.
