CAMPAIGN: The CSR Minute

CONTENT: Press Release

Hello, I’m Emily Polk, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Tuesday, April 27th:

Anvil Knitwear is the first company to receive the Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production, or WRAP, certificate. Anvil, a leading manufacturer of eco-friendly sportswear and accessories, received the certificate for its textile mill, located in Honduras. WRAP is an enhanced, comprehensive environmental audit system that includes rigorous compliance requirements. It is designed for producers of textiles, leather productions, notions, packaging, and other materials that go into apparel, footwear, leather, and sewn products. WRAP has audited facilities in more than 70 countries for the past ten years.

The Central Bank of Kenya has licensed the Kenya Women Finance Trust to accept deposits. Previously, microfinance institutions in Kenya could issue loans but were not allowed to take money from the public. The Kenya Women Finance Trust is a microfinance organization that currently provides credit for over 334,000 women clients.
