Hello, I’m Emily Polk, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Thursday, October 28th:

Canada has opened its new Corporate Social Responsibility Office for the extractive sector. The Office will help Canadian mining, oil, and gas industries meet their social and environmental responsibilities when operating in foreign countries. Its formal review process for CSR practices will be adopted by the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada, which has 7,000 corporate and individual members, and the Mining Association of Canada.

Princeton University will host a Sustainability Open House on the school’s campus on November 16th. The Open House will feature interactive displays and demonstrations from working groups, academic and research programs, and student initiatives that measure sustainability performance throughout the University. Local businesses and nonprofits will also participate. Organized by the college’s Office of Sustainability, the event coincides with the publication of Princeton’s second annual Sustainability Report.
