Hello, I’m Emily Polk, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Monday, September 13th:

Two-thirds of Canadians in a recent poll said that corporate reputation significantly impacts their brand choice. According to the Bensimon Bryne Consumerology Report, a bad corporate reputation guarantees the loss of one in five customers. 80 percent of those surveyed said the top measure of good corporate citizenship is handling a product problem or recall with transparency and accountability.

In the U.K., the Renewable Fuels Agency reports that biofuels accounted for 3.3 percent, 1.6 billion tons, of overall transportation fuel use for 2009-2010, topping the government target of 3.25 percent. However, only 33 percent of those fuels met a recognized international standard for sustainability, which missed the government target of 50 percent. In total, renewable fuels achieved an average of 51 percent emissions savings over traditional fossil fuels, up from the target of 45 percent.
