Hello, I’m Gretchen Siegchrist, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Wednesday, July 14th:

Cargill and the World Wildlife Fund have agreed to work together to assess the issue of sustainable palm oil production. Cargill sources palm oil from suppliers in Indonesia. The assessment will measure the progress of those suppliers in meeting the criteria established by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil. The WWF will supervise the overall process of evaluation, including field work and in-person visits to plantations, to identify progress on key areas such as land permitting and environmental and social practices. A report on the findings will be released early next year.

The Hang Seng Indexes, which measure Hong Kong and China markets, will launch the Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index on July 26th. The Index will provide benchmarks for investors to track sustainable development of locally listed businesses. The Index includes 30 Hong Kong-listed corporate leaders, among them eight finance picks and seven from the property sector.
