Hello, I’m Emily Polk, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Friday, September 10th:
Citigroup is expanding its efforts in the microfinance sector in India. The bank’s initiative aims to bring financial inclusion and education to the “unbanked” in that country. Small and mid-sized enterprises as well as individuals will be the target clients of Citigroup’s new strategy. Microfinance is a rapidly growing, multi-billion dollar financial category in India, with an estimated $6 billion in lender activity during the last year.
Columbia University’s Earth Institute and School of Continuing Education has started the inaugural class of its Master’s Program in Sustainability Management.
