Hello, I’m Emily Polk, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Thursday, September 9th:
EcoBlue Products have been used to frame three model homes by Heritage Building and Development of San Diego. EcoBlue is a manufacturer of wood products coated with eco-friendly chemistry that protects beams, joists, and paneling against mold, insects, and fire. Heritage is a production home builder in Otay Ranch, a pedestrian-friendly development that is San Diego County’s top-selling planned community.
The Champagne industry is reducing its carbon footprint by introducing a lighter, slimmer bottle. Producing and shipping champagne in the traditional, heavy bottles accounts for nearly one-third of Champagne’s carbon emissions, about 200,000 metric tons yearly. The Champagne region’s trade association estimates that the re-tooling of the bottle will cut 8,000 metric tons annually, the equivalent of taking 4,000 small cars off the road.
