Hello, I’m Gretchen Siegchrist, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Thursday, July 22nd:

Ice Stone has announced the winner of its annual design photograph competition. Maria Madani of the Georgetown Design Group was awarded first place for the photo of her design for the reading room of Benning Public Library in Washington, D.C. For the second year, IceStone invited designers, architects, fabricators and builders to submit pictures of commercial installations that feature IceStone’s countertops of 100 percent recycled glass. According to Madani, the company’s products were used because of their environmentally friendly qualities, their LEED rating, and the rich palette of available colors.

Global Partnerships, a Seattle-based nonprofit that invests in socially focused microfinance institutions in Latin America, has announced that its first $2 million dollar investment fund cycle has been completed. As of two weeks ago, Global Partnerships has repaid all investors to Microfinance Fund 2005, either on time or early, with interest. Investors in MFF05 included two institutions investors as well as 22 individuals who received an annual fixed-income return of the life of the fund. The capital was loaned to eight microfinance institutions in Central America, which reached more than 150,000 borrowers.
