Hello, I’m Emily Polk, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Tuesday, November 9th:

Microsoft will launch its Elevate America veterans initiative tomorrow in an event to be held at the USO of Metropolitan New York. The program is focused on providing technology skills training and other support services to help veterans transition from military service to civilian careers. Microsoft is underwriting the program with $2 million dollars in cash grants and up to $6 million dollars in software grants to several non-profits across the country.

The North Face and the National Park Foundation have joined in the initial launch of the new Facebook Deals program. North Face will donate $1 dollar to the National Park foundation for every person who checks in at one of America’s nearly 400 national parks or at The North Face retail stores. The campaign will continue for the next year, and is projected to result in a donation of up to $150,000 dollars to the National Park foundation. The Facebook Deals program gives users the ability to find offers in their community.
