Hello, I’m Emily Polk, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Friday, October 15th:

Proctor & Gamble has announced a long-term strategic plan of positioning itself as a leader in sustainable business by moving to 100 percent renewable or recycled materials for all products and packaging, and powering its plants with 100 percent renewable energy. By 2020, the company aims to replace 25 percent of petroleum-based products with sustainable alternatives, reduce packaging overall by 20 percent, and increase the amount of renewable energy used in production by 30 percent. In addition, P & G is developing a partnership with the World Wildlife Fund.

The Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy is now accepting applications for the CECP Excellence Awards. Categories include corporations and nonprofits. Winners will be showcased during the Corporate Philanthropy Summit, and in a CECP video and on the CECP website. Applications are due on December 1, and will be reviewed by a committee of representatives from the corporate, nonprofit, government, social investment, foundation, and academic communities.
