CAMPAIGN: The CSR Minute

CONTENT: Press Release

Hello, I’m Emily Polk, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Wednesday, August 11th:

PCI-Media Impact has marked its third year of producing “Looking for Love,” a radio soap opera that addresses youth sexual health in El Alto, Bolivia, a migrant town near the capital city of La Paz. Working with partners Radio Atipiri and CECOPI, the weekly show addresses women’s rights, youth reproductive health, gender violence, and inter-generational communication, facilitating interaction between youth and local health service providers. The drama is presented in a soap opera format by local teens, and then discussed on-air. “Looking for Love” is part of PCI-Media Impact’s My Community program, a series of message-oriented, locally developed media programs aimed low-income communities at  throughout Latin America.

Concern Worldwide has released 500,000 Euros from its emergency fund to kick-start a 5 million Euro appeal to raise funds for the victims of recent floods in Pakistan. The funds will be used for food, water, and shelter for the over one million homeless. Concern Worldwide has been working in long-term development programs in Pakistan since 2001, including some of the worst flood-affected provinces. The appeal is being coordinated by Ammado, which supplies nonprofits with the tools needed to support campaigns.
