CAMPAIGN: The CSR Minute

CONTENT: Press Release

Hello, I’m Emily Polk, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Friday, June 11th:

Procter & Gamble has launched a supplier environmental sustainability scorecard and rating process to measure the performance of its key suppliers. The new scorecard will assess P & G suppliers’ environmental footprint and encourage improvement by measuring energy use, water use, waste disposal, and greenhouse gas emissions on a year-to-year basis. The scorecard relies on accepted worldwide measurement standards, including protocols from the World Resources Institute, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, and the Carbon Disclosure Project.

The Ethical Fashion Forum is accepting applications for the 2010 Innovation Award, an annual sustainable design competition. Along with The Fairtrade Foundation, it has launched a new category sponsored by Tesco: The Fairtrade Cotton Award. Winners of the Innovation Award will have the opportunity to show their spring 2011 collections at Pure or Esthetica. The winner for the Fairtrade Cotton Award will be able to sell their apparel online at Tesco. Applications are due by this Sunday, June 13th.
