Hello, I’m Emily Polk, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Wednesday, October 13th:

Sara Lee Corp. has made a huge jump in the areas of climate innovation and carbon management according to Maplecroft, a global risk analysis firm. Maplecroft’s Climate Innovation Index, CII, placed Sara Lee at number 67 on the CII Leaders List, up from last year’s rating of 234. Sara Lee was noted for its inclusion of environmental sustainability throughout its product development processes, and its energy efficiency audits. Maplecroft’s Indexes include 350 companies with a combined market cap of $3.5 trillion dollars.

Mission Markets introduced its impact investment marketplace at SOCAP10, the conference for impact investors, social entrepreneurs, and funders, held in San Francisco last week. Mission Markets marketplace is the first secure, regulated, impact investing exchange to provide companies and organizations with social and environmental missions, products, or services with access to mission-aligned capital. The exchange also gives financial professionals an efficient way to identify, evaluate, and invest in impact investment opportunities. The Monitor Institute projects the impact investing space to be a $500 billion dollar industry within the next decade.
