Snapple aims to achieve an 80 percent recycling rate for its beverage production processes by 2015. The goal is part of Dr. Pepper-Snapple Group’s eco-standards outlined in its new environmental sustainability report, which include reduction of fuel use during product shipments and reducing water, energy, and greenhouse gas emissions from manufacturing. The company also hopes to conserve 60 million pounds of plastic currently used in its packaging through redesigns and increased use of recycled P-E-T polymer for bottling.
National Clean Fuels has announced that its President and Chairman, Maurice Stone, will be the moderator and presenter to the United Negro College Fund’s Building Green Initiative for Minority Serving Institutions, on renewable technology implementation at college and university campuses. The UNCF Building Green Learning Institute provides best practices, resources, and technology solutions for greening campuses at historically black colleges and universities, Hispanic-serving institutions, and tribal colleges. National Clean Fuels develops alternative energy projects for corporations and government entities.
