2009 Tiller Social Action Survey
Despite a shaky economy, Americans are committed to giving back, according to the 2009 Tiller Social Action Survey. In fact, 97% said it’s at least somewhat important for Americans to contribute to the greater good -- virtually the same level (98%) who responded that way in the original Tiller survey, conducted in 2006.
Eighty percent said their 2009 charitable contributions would be at the same level or higher than last year and 90% said they would donate as much or more in 2010.
At the same time, Americans recognize that there’s more they could be doing to help their fellow citizens -- and much more that our political leaders, especially, could be doing to encourage and support good works.
The Tiller Social Action Survey explores how Americans nationwide view social responsibility, volunteering and charitable giving.
