As part of a year-long celebration of 100 years insuring America, Zurich Insurance Group (Zurich) employees in the U.S. are taking part in a new corporate responsibility initiative throughout the world. Zurich’s inaugural Global Community Week, which also coincides with National Volunteer Week in the U.S., takes place April 16-20, 2012. Global Community Week offers a unique opportunity to celebrate Zurich’s commitment to make a sustainable difference in local communities with colleagues from Asia, Canada, Europe, Latin America, Russia, and more.

United Way "Fun with Food" Food Drive
During Zurich Insurance's first ever Global Community Week, Zurich employees raised in-kind donations of food and other items equaling 146 boxes or 2,920 pounds, benefitting local United Way food pantries.

The American Red Cross Greater New York Regions' and Zurich Insurance, lead by CEO Martin Senn and 40+ Zurich employees, participated in an event on April 20 at Zurich's 17th Street office assembling nearly 400 Red Cross "after-fire" clean-up kits for residents following home fires across the region.
