Encana has been named to Corporate Knights 2012 Global 100 list, a ranking of large corporations which have been most proactive in managing environmental, social and governance issues. Encana, a natural gas producer, ranked 76th overall, and is one of only six Canadian companies to be included. Encana was also named to the 2011 Dow Jones Sustainability Index, the Jantzi Social Index, and the Carbon Disclosure Project Canadian Leadership Index. The company is listed as one of Canada’s 50 Most Socially Responsible Corporations by the Ethisphere Institute.

92 percent of the British public polled in a recent survey say it is important for the National Health Service to work in a more sustainable way. The survey, conducted by the NHS Sustainable Development Unit, also found that more than half of NHS leaders surveyed say that sustainability is important in the running of the organization. 30 percent of NHS leaders believe it is important in demonstrating health outcomes.  The difficulties cited in implementing sustainability throughout the health service are financial considerations, attitudes of NHS colleagues, and governance regulations.
