(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) Greensboro, N.C - May 3, 2011 - Homeowners learning from other homeowners – that’s what the new Greenspiration Home website is all about.

Greenspiration Home LLC is pleased to announce its new website www.greenspirationhome.com, a homeowner-to-homeowner resource for building green.
Visitors to the site will find real world advice on green homebuilding, renovating, and even decorating. Most important, this advice comes directly from a living, breathing homeowner who has actually ‘been there and done that!’

“Homeowners desperately need a resource like this that talks to them in a language they can understand,” said Greenspiration Home publisher, Trish Holder.

Holder and her husband, Mark Raines, are the owners of the original Greenspiration Home, a highly publicized LEED registered green showcase house in Greensboro, NC.  Holder admits that she and her husband faced many challenges building this home, not the least of which was finding contractors who were familiar with some of the new products and technologies that were applied.

“We learned so much that could save other homeowners time, money and frustration. So we decided to keep on talking and invite other homeowners to share their experiences too!”

According to Holder, a professional writer and marketing consultant for the construction industry, most homeowners don’t know the right questions to ask their builders and contractors when it comes to building green—or saving energy for that matter. And builders and contractors are more likely to stick with what they know, leaving many greener opportunities untapped.

“We want to arm homeowners with knowledge so they can speak with greater authority and confidence to their builders and contractors about their green aspirations,” said Holder. “The best way to do this is to give them experiential information that they can relate to – not a lot of confusing jargon that intimidates them from the start.”

Visitors to the site can expect advice on everything from selecting heating and cooling systems to how to care for sustainable rugs. The blogs are conversational and even entertaining. They are dotted with humorous one-liners that any homeowner, mom, dad, husband or wife can relate to. Most important, it’s this engaging copy that lures readers into the valuable lesson in homeownership that each blog imparts.

Greenspiration Home LLC is an online resource dedicated to helping homeowners build, renovate, and decorate green.  Whether your aspirations lean toward deep green and granola or practical and energy efficient, Greenspiration Home is loaded with homeowner-based content that will save you time, money and frustration.
