Summary: Dr. Richard Stammer, CEO of Agri-Mark, Inc. (dba Cabot Creamery Cooperative), the northeast's premier dairy cooperative, has been instrumental in establishing the cooperative’s sustainability program.  Under his leadership, Cabot chose the approach of Context-Based Sustainability, a program in which a company's non-financial performance is assessed relative to real social and environmental thresholds in the world and not just incrementally.  Under this approach, the “Destamminator” metric was born as a way to define standards for what a company's impacts on water resources would have to be in order to be sustainable.  In this article, Dr. Mark McElroy celebrates Stammer’s leadership and contribution to the cooperative and to the evolution of Context-Based Sustainability.
