(3BL Media) Madison, WI – September 6, 2012 – Leonardo Academy recognizes Madeline Island Ferry Line for its generous donation to support the outreach and education activities of Leonardo Academy’s Sustainable Transportation Program. This funding will help educate and raise awareness on the need for sustainable transportation and reduced emissions. Leonardo Academy works proactively to achieve the sustainable transportation of persons and goods throughout the country. This program is designed to move the transportation industry and operators toward higher performance in the areas where transportation has the greatest impacts: access, climate, energy, and ecological function.

Michael Arny, President of Leonardo Academy, said, “We sincerely appreciate Madeline Island Ferry Line’s generous donation to support the continued activities of our Sustainable Transportation Program. About Madeline Island Ferry Line
Madeline Island Ferry Line connects Bayfield and Madeline Island with the operation of four ferries, the Motor Vessel (MV) Bayfield, MV Madeline, MV Island Queen, and MV Nichevo. Located at the gateway to the Apostle Islands on the south shore of Lake Superior in Northern Wisconsin, Madeline Island Ferry Line provides passenger, bicycle and car transportation between the picturesque towns of LaPointe and Bayfield. The 25-minute trip provides spectacular views of the lake itself and several of the 22 Apostle Islands.

Madeline Island Ferry Line has a strong commitment to natural resource protection.
