CAMPAIGN: Medtronic Disaster Relief Efforts

(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) MINNEAPOLIS – May 19, 2011 – Medtronic, Inc. (NYSE: MDT) announced that it has pledged $25,000 through the Medtronic Foundation to support flooding relief efforts in the greater Memphis, Tenn. area. 

The $25,000 will be directed to the Mid-South Red Cross to provide basic needs for displaced residents and support recovery efforts following the historic Mississippi River flooding that has affected much of the region. 
 
Medtronic employees in the area also are being offered paid leave to volunteer for relief efforts.  Medtronic’s spinal business is based in Memphis, employing 1,570 people.
