It's becoming more common for organizations to publish sustainability reports and just last week, SAP published its 2010 Sustainability report.  Great! But what makes this report important?  And why does it have special meaning to your business?

For starters, SAP recognizes that to lead in sustainability, they have to be that themselves to drive it.  The report itself represents a movement from sustainability as an independent sustainable business strategy to that of a corporate strategy that is sustainability.  What makes the report important?

SAP's sustainability report seamlessly integrates with social platforms such as Facebook and Twitter to provide creative use of social media on each page of the report.  The intent? To encourage stakeholder engagement via active dialog of comments, knowledge sharing, best practices, and suggestions.  Interestingly, each page is optimized with a relevant hash tag and if you pose a question, SAP has dedicated resources to each page to answer your question within 24 hours.  How's that for transparency, visibility, and engagement?
