(3BLMedia/TheCSRfeed) TORONTO, ON January 25, 2011 — Canadian office solutions provider Grand & Toy and Impakt, a Toronto-based leader in corporate responsibility, have launched the second video in their Corporate Responsibility with Impakt series.

The Corporate Responsibility with Impakt series features innovative social responsibility best practices relevant to businesses of all sizes. The second video in the series focuses on the business case for what Social Capital Partners (SCP), a national, not-for-profit provider of advisory services to help companies integrate social missions into HR models, has defined as “social hiring” – the practice of employing job-ready individuals who have experienced difficulty entering the workforce. A downloadable tool developed by Social Capital Partners helping franchised business assess their readiness to implement a social hiring program accompanies the video.

"It is exciting for SCP to be a part of the Corporate Responsibility with Impakt video series. I see this as an opportunity for Canadian business leaders and franchisors to learn about the value of community hiring, and see it as we do – a win for the business and for the community, says Bill Young, president and CEO of Social Capital Partners and pioneer in the field of social hiring, featured in the video.

“Grand & Toy is committed to helping Canadian organizations adopt business practices that are sustainable and socially responsible, balancing their profitability objectives with the needs of their communities,” says Natasha Renaud, Director, Communications and Social Responsibility at Grand & Toy. “Social hiring is an important dimension of corporate responsibility that can be of value to companies and to the community.”

“In continuing this initiative with Grand & Toy, our goal is to showcase – in a practical, user-friendly way – leading examples of innovation, trends and best practices in CSR,” says Paul Klein, Founder of Impakt and host of the series. ”We believe this second video will be a useful tool for HR managers and other organizational leaders looking to improve the business performance of their organizations in a way that also supports the community.”

The second video will be released on January 25, 2011 and will be posted on Impakt’s  website, as well as on YouTube. The first video in the series launched in November 2010, focused on maximizing social partnerships.
