'Street Nurses' Take Healthcare to the Streets of Halifax, Canada
Patti Melanson, a street nurse with Mobile Outreach Street Health (MOSH), will be speaking about her experiences at a special reception on Monday, June 14th.

Beyond Barriers: Photographs from the Frontlines of Health is an eye-opening exhibit of stories and images that form a narrative map of the people, organizations and communities that make up the frontlines of health in Canada.

When health, social service and support services and clinics in Halifax saw their clients facing barriers to care they designed a new service to reach out to clients where they live.  The result:  a new way of delivering primary care to vulnerable populations.  Mobile Outreach Street Health (MOSH) – taking it to the streets.  Patti Melanson is the street nurse behind MOSH and will be speaking about her experiences at a special reception on Monday, June 14th.  Patti’s story, and the innovative stories of many other practitioners from across Canada, are celebrated in Beyond Barriers:  Photographs from the frontlines of health, on display at the Canadian Public Health Association’s Centenary conference.
