(3BL Media/theCSRfeed) Toronto, ON - February 19, 2010 - For the very first time, on Thursday, April 1, 2010 in the Toronto MaRS Discovery District Auditorium, Canadian business leaders, entrepreneurs, policy makers, and investors will come together to explore what sustainable business means in practice. Join Green Enterprise Ontario, InCourage Learning and Development and MaRS Discovery District as they bring you The Sustainability Leadership Exchange (SLX).

SLX works with thought and action leaders to stimulate the exchange of ideas and practices between participants. The goal is to actively engage participants through collaborative learning, to explore innovative, practical, profitable shifts in organizational sustainability.
The Sustainability Leadership Exchange is multi-dimensional. It features keynotes, Q&A, break-out sessions, interactivity, social networking, finger-foods and cocktails. Participants will experience real-life success stories and explore possibilities for how they can help their organization make meaningful choices.
This format which creates an intersection for sustainability and cooperative learning for businesses is much-needed! Usually the issues of sustainability feel unattainable for small to medium enterprises – SLX brings them well within reach.” -Chris Jarvis, Realized Worth
SLX's Keynote speakers, Jay Coen Gilbert, B Lab Co-Founder and Hardik Savalia, B-Lab Certification & Services will explain why B Corps matter, what they offer and how to become one. Attendees will learn about the over two hundred and fifty companies in the US and Canada that have voluntarily revised their bylaws to include social and ecological benefits in their definition of the shareholder value they are obliged to deliver. B Corps are not only revolutionary, but also the future of business and sustainability. Gilbert and Savalia will explain how businesses large and small, investors, policymakers and other organizations can use B Corp standards to positively impact profit, people and planet. Discover how! Learn about the leaders in social and environmental excellence who have joined the B Corp Community.
B Corporations  are a new type of corporation which uses the power of business to solve social and environmental problems.  B Corporations are unlike traditional responsible businesses because they: 1) meet comprehensive and transparent social and environmental performance standards 2) Institutionalize stakeholder interests. 3) Build collective voice through the power of a unifying brand.
