The rapid changing climate of today’s business has shifted the priorities and expectations of the everyday wage earner.  Today’s increasingly busy workforce now seeks to maximize the use of its time and leverage advancements in technology to create greater work-life balance.  As a result, the business world is currently in the process of tearing down traditional work structures and replacing them with more flexible working relationships with their internal stakeholders.

According to a recent study by The Family and Work Life Institute, an overwhelming 79% of employees want more flexibility.   This is further supported by Deloitte Consulting Group’s own findings: “Flexibility is the No. 1 issue for women, but it’s also the No. 2 or 3 issue for men”.  The question is how do you implement a controllable and equally fair model?

•    How do you scale a flexible work model to be applicable to all employees?
•    How do you systematize a more tailored, customized situational-model?
•    Should you do it by exception?
•    Should you do it by accommodation?

Discussed in detail by The Family and Work Life Institute, a growing number of organizations have embraced business sustainability programs to respond to shifting employee expectations and capture the value from increased internal engagement. Click here to learn more about workplace flexibility.
