As Newsweek Green Rankings most sustainable industrial company, it should come as no surprise that Atlas Copco, a world-leading provider of sustainable productivity solutions, is always looking to exceed when it comes to environmental responsibility.

Atlas Copco’s mission is to deliver sustainable growth. We do everything we can to ensure reliable, enduring results through responsible use of our resources; human, natural and capital. Sustainability lies at the heart of our innovative products and is driven by our committed employees, but it goes even farther than that. We view sustainability as an opportunity. We use it to drive product innovation, reduce costs, reduce risks and create business opportunities. Therefore, it’s important to us we choose business partners that share similar values.

One of Atlas Copco’s printing partners, TigerPress, is an award-winning, FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) Certified custom printing company that recognizes our planet as our most valuable resource. The woman-owned company takes into consideration green printing initiatives that incorporate environmental protection and sustainability, such as the 100% post-consumer recycled fiber paper they print on, with safe, sustainable, and renewable soy based ink and the amount of recycled materials contained in their packaging. In fact, about half of their packaging materials are made with recycled materials.

For more than thirty years, TigerPress has been focusing on ways to reduce their carbon footprint. A few of their tactics include: significantly reducing paper waste in printing and binding operations, reducing VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and plant emissions, press wetting agents based on non-toxic citric acid and gum Arabic, which is entirely non-polluting, and recycling items, such as solvents, all suitable paper waste, wood products and metal materials. They recycle so many pieces that in an average month, up to forty tons of material is recovered.

Outside of their operations, they are further reducing their footprint using their New England facility. They implemented motor sensor, energy efficient lighting to prevent wasted energy usage and are installing solar energy that will generate 60-70% of their total electricity usage.

Atlas Copco’s belief is that there is always a better way – a way to be more safe, more ergonomic and more efficient. Tiger Press shares this view in continually searching for ways to improve, for both their customers and the environment. To learn more about Tiger Press, visit www.tigerpress.com.
