Taylor, Mich., August 7, 2014 /3BL Media/ – Local CITGO Marketer Atlas Oil Company and CITGO Petroleum Corporation raised nearly $1,000 to support anti-bullying awareness as part of the “Be A Star. Buy A Star.” fundraiser. 19 Atlas Oil CITGO locations across Michigan invited customers to purchase paper stars for $1 or more to benefit the 2013-2014 Relentless Tour: Ianni Project, a grassroots initiative by the Autism Alliance of Michigan designed to help eradicate bullying across the state.

“We are so grateful to the customers who donated to this cause,” said Mary Zaleski, director of marketing at Atlas Oil Company. “We feel honored to partner with the Autism Alliance of Michigan and Anthony Ianni for such a great campaign. The Relentless Tour has a wonderful mission and we hope to develop new initiatives to support anti-bullying in our community and across the state.”

All of the proceeds raised during the campaign were donated to the 2013-2014 Relentless Tour: Ianni Project. The tour, which was developed by the Autism Alliance of Michigan and former Michigan State basketball player Anthony Ianni, has visited more than 150 schools this year as part of its mission to stop bullying. As the official fuel sponsors for the statewide tour, Atlas Oil and CITGO have supported the program with special station events and fundraising efforts, including tour bus stops at Atlas Oil CITGO locations.
