Back-to-School: Solutions for STEM

It’s no secret our students continue to fall behind in science, technology, engineering and math – the STEM fields. The business and academic communities have responded by commissioning studies, launching programs, giving grants, finding ambassadors and building mentorships.

Yet, even after all of these efforts, the broad statistics are still troubling. The United States has fallen further behind, ranking 51st in the world for quality of math and science education. There has been no significant increase in the number of women in STEM careers since 2001. Women and minorities remain grossly underrepresented.
