Last week, Booz Allen Hamilton’s Innovation Center opened its doors for the first time with a Hard Hat Launch Reception in downtown Washington, DC. Leaders across Booz Allen celebrated the construction kickoff, a major milestone in fulfilling the next chapter of Booz Allen’s Innovation Agenda. The Innovation Center is where clients, employees, partners, and the Innovation Community will converge to inspire ideas, build new technologies, grow dynamic networks of inputs, and work together to solve their toughest clients problems of today, and the future.

The event demonstrated to guests the opportunities for creative solutions and products that will make the Innovation Center thrive. The Center has been carefully planned, expertly designed, and strategically executed by Booz Allen’s top thinkers, who believe whole-heartedly in embracing a lean start-up approach to change the 100-year old firm’s culture. The Innovation Center is the physical embodiment of Booz Allen’s relentless pursuit to create original value for clients. It will be a free-flowing collaborative space designed to fuel creativity and inspire employees, clients, and the Innovation Community. Visitors will experience the transformative solutions Booz Allen is building in-house and delivering to clients. For example, in the Internet of Things (IoT) lab, guests will see first-hand how Booz Allen develops end-to-end IoT solutions through design, prototyping and testing.

The Innovation Center will also serve as a catalyst to create a deeper connection with the Innovation Community. Not only will the Innovation Center serve as a space for networking, thought leadership events, and live demonstrations; it will also enable Booz Allen’s top talent to collaborate outside the walls of the firm to develop cutting-edge client solutions. To embody Booz Allen’s Don’t Go It Alone philosophy, clients, startups, tech entrepreneurs, corporate partners, venture capital groups, incubators and accelerators will be invited to openly innovate with Booz Allen in this space.

“No two minds are alike – and that’s something we value greatly at Booz Allen. Our Innovation Center is a space created to embrace our people’s unique strengths and inspire them to drive innovation forward,” said EVP Susan Penfield, a leader in bringing the Center to life. “In the Innovation Center we will celebrate exploration and enable our data scientists, engineers, consultants, and subject matter experts to advance ideas, strategies, and products in an open collaborative environment.”
