Booz Allen Hamilton Marks MS Awareness Month

March is Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month, and to celebrate Booz Allen Hamilton is promoting participation in local events to help combat MS and build resiliency for those living with it.

As part of the firm’s Leadership Excellence for Senior Associates program, a team of Booz Allen employees engaged in a pro bono project for The National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society (NMSS). The NMSS helps people affected by MS by funding cutting edge research, driving change through advocacy, facilitating professional education, and providing programs and services that help people with MS and their families move their lives forward.

The Booz Allen team completed an independent review of the society’s Board of Trustees operation, providing strategic recommendations and an implementation roadmap to jump start the transformation of the Board of Trustees to a higher level of performance and engagement with the Chapter.

Chartese Berry, Chapter President of the Greater DC-Maryland Chapter of the National MS Society said, “We appreciate all that Booz Allen has done to support us throughout our chapter re-alignment and transition. Their work has gone above and beyond our expectations and we're grateful to have such an amazing partner.” Booz Allen Executive Vice President Gary Labovich said of the firm’s work, “Booz Allen employees welcome the opportunity to put their leadership and management consulting skills to work to effect positive change in the communities in which they live and work. Our work with NMSS has been especially rewarding.”

Over the past five years, the firm has contributed and raised over $200,000 in support of MS awareness, research, and education.  This year, under the leadership of Labovich and Vice President Curt Riggle, the firm will sponsor teams participating in MS Walks to be held over several dates in April.  Curt Riggle said of the firm’s involvement, “Booz Allen is known for our Spirit of Service and for our employees’ passion to make a difference in our communities. We are proud of our employee’s commitment to participation and fundraising in raising awareness of multiple sclerosis.”
