For the 17th consecutive year, Booz Allen Hamilton was named to the prestigious list of “100 Best Companies” by Working Mother magazine, for the firm’s commitment to progressive workplaces that promote flexibility and career advancement. 2015 also marks Booz Allen’s third year in the “Best Companies Hall of Fame,” which honors “heavy hitters” that have made the list for 15 or more years.

The “100 Best Companies” are selected for their outstanding leadership in establishing policies, programs, and corporate culture in support of working moms, including child care, flexible work arrangements, paid parental leave, and the advancement of women. Companies are also measured on the access to and usage of their family friendly programs.

In the October issue of Working Mother, in a feature spotlighting this year’s winners, the magazine praised Booz Allen’s advancement-oriented Women’s Agenda—an initiative that generates programs and opportunities that drive the development of women employees. It also highlighted the firm’s flexible schedules, telecommuting options, and leave programs; its “Comeback Kid” program that rehires firm alumni; and a new “PowerUP” campaign that encourages employee wellness through walking challenges, weekly tips, and fun activities—everything from paddleboarding sessions, to healthy cooking demonstrations, to breakdancing lessons.

“Booz Allen is proud to be recognized again by Working Mother,” says Booz Allen EVP and Chief Personnel Officer Betty Thompson. “It is a testament in part to the environment we have created that offers our talented employees the flexibility and support needed to be successful in all aspects of their lives. I believe it’s also a testament to the incredible people of Booz Allen—mothers, fathers, caregivers—who make their families and our clients stronger every day because they care, and because they make a difference in all dimensions.”
