Los Angeles, April 2, 2014 /3BL Media/ – CBRE Group, Inc. has been named to the Companies That Care Honor Roll for the seventh consecutive year. Employers on the 2014 Honor Roll have demonstrated socially responsible workplace practices and active community involvement, as determined by Center for Companies That Care, a national, not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the well-being of employees, families and communities. CBRE is the only commercial real estate services firm on the list.

“These employers are best in class,” said Marci Koblenz, Center for Companies That Care’s co-founder and president. “Their daily practices within their organizations and in the community affirm business as a valuable contributor to society. A Company That Cares is attuned to all of its constituents, making business decisions that take into account the human toll and help others achieve professional as well as personal goals. Without a doubt these organizations are companies that care.”

Honor Roll employers are selected for their adherence to all 10 characteristics of socially responsible employers. CBRE, like the other companies named to the list, excels in the 10 characteristics inherent to a “Company That Cares,” which include: sustaining a work environment founded on dignity and respect for all employees; developing great leaders, at all levels; establishing standards for ethical behavior and integrity; and getting involved in community endeavors and/or public policy.

“The Honor Roll designation affirms our commitment to providing an inclusive and caring workplace for our employees,” said Jennifer Ashley, Senior Vice President, Americas HR. “We aspire to continue building upon the programs and policies that have earned us this distinction for seven years in a row.”

Each March, the Honor Roll is announced in conjunction with the launch of CAREDAYS, an annual month-long, national initiative to address a significant societal issue. CAREDAYS14: Terrific Tales supports childhood literacy by increasing children’s easy access to engaging books. Individuals and organizations are encouraged to either donate books or raise funds to purchase books for 1000 under-resources classrooms.  Any donation resulting in children reading fluently by third grade will change lives and those of future generations.
