Los Angeles, December 7, 2015 /3BL Media/ --  CBRE's fifth-annual National Shoe Collection Drive, held in conjunction with the international charity Soles4Souls®, was a huge success, providing more than 19,000 pairs of shoes for people in need around the world.

CBRE employees donated nearly 13,000 pairs of shoes for this campaign. CBRE Cares, the company’s corporate philanthropy program, donated an additional 6,455 pairs of shoes. As a result of the drive, Soles4Souls will be able to provide shoes for more than 19,365 adults and children worldwide.

“Our five-year partnership with Soles4Souls is an important charitable initiative of CBRE,” said Cal Frese, Chief Executive Officer of the Americas. “I am extremely proud of the efforts led by our employees around the country to collect and donate thousands of shoes each year. It is a testament to our company’s commitment to helping others.”

With more than 93,300 pairs of shoes donated during the past five years, the CBRE campaign is one of Soles4Souls’ most successful corporate shoe drives. Soles4Souls advances its anti-poverty mission by distributing these shoes via direct donations to people in need and by provisioning qualified micro-enterprise programs designed to create jobs in poor and disadvantaged communities and promote environmental sustainability.

“The thousands of shoes our employees collect each year is a small step that keeps them from going to waste and promotes sustainability,” said Chad Phillips, Office Operations Manager of CBRE’s Indianapolis office and the program’s chairman.

“CBRE shares our belief that a world-class company is entrepreneurial and accountable for the regions in which it conducts business,” said Soles4Souls CEO Buddy Teaster. “We have worked with CBRE for many years and admire the philanthropic work it does. Together, we have helped thousands of people around the world rise above poverty.”

Sponsored by CBRE Eco Knights, the company’s sustainability group, this year’s shoe drive included participants from 85 CBRE locations across the U.S.
