(3BL Media) New York, NY - September 12, 2012 - The Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP) today announced the selection of its 2012-2013 Advisory Committee. The Advisory Committee members, who also serve as a jury for the Excellence Awards in Corporate Philanthropy, include leaders from the corporate, non-profit, social investment, consulting, media, and academic fields. In addition to providing one-on-one feedback on CECP’s programs and initiatives, the full Advisory Committee will also meet in person this fall for a day-long session to discuss a variety of strategic topics and select CECP’s 2013 Excellence Awards winners. 

“Each year we strive to bring together an Advisory Committee that will challenge and stretch CECP to carry out programs that lead the field,” said CECP’s Executive Director, Charles Moore.   “The diversity of backgrounds and expertise we have assembled in this year’s group will be reflected in the continued quality of CECP’s programs and the high caliber of the Excellence Awards winners.”

The 2012-2013 Advisory Committee members are:

Presented annually since 2000, the Awards recognize outstanding leadership in corporate giving programs among CECP members and non-members, and are presented in three separate categories: 

  • Chairman’s Award, for companies with annual revenue greater or equal to $20B USD;
  • President’s Award, for those with annual revenue of less than $20B USD; and
  • Directors’ Award, which recognizes a partnership between a non-profit organization and a corporation. Additionally, the Directors’ Award includes a $25,000 cash donation from CECP’s Board of Directors.

CEOs from Excellence Awards’ winning companies will discuss their programs with their CEO peers at CECP’s annual Board of Boards CEO Conference on February 25th, 2013. The 2013 Award applications deadline was Friday September 7th, 2012.
