Christina Aguilera, international superstar and "The Voice" mentor has been a spokesperson for Yum! Brands' World Hunger Relief effort since 2009. Recently, Aguilera ventured outside her comfort zone when she visited Rwanda in June and saw the deep effects of hunger first hand. She has said the experience helped her ground herself.

On the singer’s Rwanda trip, she served food to children and visited refugee camps, which she called "one of the most difficult moments." Aguilera said being a mother has made her feel more empathetic for those suffering from hunger around the world. Yum! Brands is the parent company of KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell and has launched its annual World Hunger Relief 2013 efforts that features Aguilera and her inspirational song, “Light Up the Sky,” in a new Public Service Announcement. Yum! Brands began its efforts in 2007 to raise awareness, volunteerism and funds hunger relief for the United Nations’ (UN) World Food Programme (WFP).
