Less than two years after Deloitte opened Deloitte University, a $300-million training facility in Westlake, Texas, the company has added a component designed to ensure that inclusion is ingrained in all its leaders. Through the Leadership Center for Inclusion, which launched this month, the professional services company is working to redefine the way people talk about inclusion in the workplace.

“Inclusion is the leadership issue of our time,” says Christie Smith, Deloitte’s managing partner of the Leadership Center for Inclusion and regional managing partner for consulting in the West. “It is not programs and initiatives solely and can’t be. We must start with corporate values, corporate culture, and leadership.”
