May 6, 2013 /3BL Media/ - Ethical Corporation’s Responsible Business Awards pay tribute to companies’ commitment to responsible business practices and recognize global leaders in corporate sustainability. The Best Private Company category acknowledges the privately-held unlisted company that has best demonstrated its dedication to embedding sustainable business across its operations.

“We’re very excited to be nominated for this award by Ethical Corporation. As a private, family owned business, we have the freedom to make long-term investments. This freedom means we have a greater responsibility to help solve the grand challenges facing society and to create mutual benefits for all those involved in our success,” commented Richard Ware, Vice President, Supply, Research & Development and Procurement. “We are proud of the progress and impact we have had on this journey so far and recognition from organisations such as Ethical Corporation spurs us on. We look forward with anticipation to the announcement of the winner.”

The achievements of the Sustainable Cocoa Initiative, progress on commitments to sustainable sourcing and Sustainable in a Generation, the impact of the sequencing of the cocoa genome and work with the African Orphan Crops consortium, were some of the standout achievements of 2012 recognised by Ethical Corporation’s judging panel. Ethical Corporation will announce the award winner on June 24th.
