Skills-based Volunteerism in Israel Inspires Teens Through Unistream Partnership
Unistream was launched in 2001, the same year Avnet Israel was established. More than 700 teens across Israel are participating in a program called “Educating Tomorrow’s Leaders Today.” The aim of the program is to inspire and empower these young adults and to show them they too have a path toward business and social leadership. There are 12 Unistream centers spread throughout the country.

Avnet Supports ‘Hacking for Good’ Weekend
During Avnet’s second annual Global Month of Service in October, Avnet partnered with PayPal to host the fourth annual Arizona Opportunity Hack event, in which nonprofit organizations received free solutions to their most pressing business and technology needs.

Avnet Supports STEM Education Through Junior Achievement Partnership
Thanks to Avnet’s corporate partnership with Junior Achievement (JA) of Arizona, more than 25,000 students are able to have a hands-on tech industry experience. Sparking interest in the technology industry and nurturing science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education is important to Avnet, and sponsoring two shops at JA BizTown provides students with critical exposure to important STEM career opportunities.

Making the Holidays Happier: How Avnet Employees and The Salvation Army Impact Children’s Lives
Employees at Avnet’s Global Solutions Center in Chandler, Ariz., raised more than $26,000 to help the Salvation Army’s Christmas Angel program, an effort that supports more than 50,000 people in the Phoenix metro area. The employee-led effort dates back to 2007 and has resulted in $282,000 in donations.
