Subaru's Zero Landfill Expertise Shared with National Parks: Video Series

Subaru, recognized for having the first automotive assembly plant in America designated as zero landfill, is sharing its knowledge of zero landfill practices with the National Park Service to reduce landfill waste from the parks. In partnership with National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), the team is testing zero landfill practices in three iconic national parks – Yosemite, Grand Teton and Denali – working toward a goal of significantly reducing waste going into landfills from all national parks. This sustainability initiative builds upon Subaru of America’s multi-year partnership with the National Park Foundation celebrating the National Park Service Centennial. “Who We Are Is What We Leave Behind” is the documentary series highlighting the effort of making these invaluable places zero landfill.

Subaru Offers Americans Tips on How to Keep National Parks Clean Leading Into Labor Day Weekend
Last year, more than 330 million people visited the national parks and with Labor Day weekend around the corner, parks across the country are likely to see a surge of visitor traffic. While everyone is encouraged to visit a national park in their area, with more visitors comes more waste that the National Park Service (NPS) must manage. Each year, NPS manages nearly 100 million pounds of visitor waste nationally, much of which is brought in from outside the parks.
