Cisco CSR at Cisco Live US 2015: The Week in Pictures

by Austin Belisle

More than 25,000 people attended Cisco Live US 2015 in San Diego, California.

As part of the Cisco Networking Academy Dream Team, 30 students worked side-by-side with Cisco’s IT team during the week to keep the conference’s network online and build the skills they’ll need to pursue networking careers.

The massive network made Cisco CSR’s Partner Pavilion possible, connecting attendees to six of our partners inside the World of Solutions.

There, the Cisco CSR team shared how we’re working with partners around the world to empower global problem solvers with the skills needed to speed the pace of social change.

Later in the week, volunteers assembled more than 100,000 meals for hungry families around the world as part of Stop Hunger Now’s activation station.

Florian Esteves and Mathieu Chevalier, former Cisco Networking Academy students, created the Handisco walking stick and presented their connected invention to customers throughout the week.

Harbrinder Kang, VP of Corporate Affairs, used the story of Florian and Mathieu to highlight how Cisco is empowering people around the world to take advantage of the connected economy and solve our most pressing social issues.

Kathy Mulvany, VP of Corporate Affairs, held a panel with four of our partners to discuss the role of technology in speeding the pace of social change and how Cisco’s support is making that possible.

During Student Day, more than 300 local students took part in a number of different activities, from career conversations with industry experts to a team-building exercise with Legos.

To end the conference, Student Day participants attended Mike Rowe’s closing keynote, where he explained how the face of work is changing, and how Cisco is adapting to prepare today’s students for tomorrow’s careers in the IT industry.
