Today, Comcast NBCUniversal was ranked number four on GI Jobs® Magazine’s 2017 Military Friendly Employer list. This represents a major jump from 74th last year and is a testament to the progress the entire company has made in 2016 on our military-focused programs.

Comcast NBCUniversal has long had a focus on engaging and integrating the military community in to all levels of the organization. In 2015, we took another step forward in on our support of the military community by launching our Military and Veteran Affairs team. That focus, along with the efforts of our 5,500 member-strong Veterans Network Employee Resource Group, and our great Talent Acquisition team, has played a large part in our ongoing successful effort to hire 10,000 Veterans, Guard and Reserve members and military spouses by 2017.

We are a recognized leader in the military community, working with organizations like Hiring our Heroes and the Veteran Job Mission to develop and share best practices in veteran recruitment and retention. Our benefits for employees who also serve in the National Guard and Reserve, like those we highlighted at military.comcast.com, are second to none. They allow those who continue to serve their communities and nation to succeed and grow in their military careers and here at Comcast NBCUniversal. Our military spouse benefits help attract and retain a diverse and highly educated population that actively seeks career opportunities.

While our hiring commitment is noteworthy, we have also engaged with and supported the military community in a variety of ways. This summer, for the first time ever, we streamed the Summer Olympics to Active Duty and retired military personnel and their families at no cost. Through our partnerships with The Bunker Labs and Greater Philadelphia Veterans Network we have encouraged members of the military community to start their own businesses. And, along with our partners at NBC News’ TODAY, we highlighted the tremendous challenges that our military caregivers face and committed to leverage our accessibility technology to make their lives easier.

We are so proud of this unique honor and are thankful for our leaders, hiring managers, and team members at Comcast NBCUniversal who recognize the talent that members of the Military Community bring to our company and our communities.
