DENVER, June 9, 2015 /3BL Media/ – Common Impact’s CEO, Danielle Holly will bring her perspective on the role that service can play in solving complex social challenges to the Clinton Global Initiative America (CGI America) annual meeting in Denver, CO.

Common Impact has revolutionized the way companies engage with their local communities through its skills-based volunteering programs, which are designed to amplify the impact of each hour of service by directing the skills, talents and experiences of corporate employees to the community challenges they’re best positioned to address.  The result: a 7-to-1 return on investment of time and talent, leading to real progress with respect to the education, housing and environmental issues that cities across America are tackling.

Holly remarked, “We are thrilled to join the country’s most talented cross-sector leaders at CGI America, and to bring the service sector actively into the conversation.  Skills-based and pro bono volunteering represents an enormous, largely untapped resource that, if unlocked, will allow us to address the deepest, most complex social challenges at their core.”

Common Impact joins the Reconnecting Youth Working Group, with a commitment to bringing Common Impact’s corporate network – some of the largest employers in the country – into the conversation.  Holly added, “Companies represent one of the broadest avenues we have to engage youth who are disconnected from the education system, since they can help make the case to young people that college and a career are a better alternative than dropping out and joining a gang.  The private sector is inherently invested in reconnecting these young people and creating a strong future workforce.  If we can increasingly focus the energy, resources and talent of companies that are already investing in this challenge, we can make more measurable progress and better understand how to implement scalable solutions.  Common Impact has a unique role to play in activating that collaboration through skilled service.”

About Common Impact
Common Impact is a nonprofit organization that connects skilled professionals from global companies to high-potential local nonprofits. Our employee engagement programs match employee-volunteers with nonprofits that need help overcoming key business challenges. This innovative approach to corporate community service enables companies to realize a positive return on their social investment while building stronger teams and developing employee skills. At the same time, this access to private sector talent enables nonprofits to amplify their impact on the constituents they serve. Ultimately, our work helps foster stronger communities wherever those companies operate.

About The Clinton Global Initiative
The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI), an initiative of the Clinton Foundation, convenes global leaders to create and implement solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges. Established in June 2011 by President Bill Clinton, the Clinton Global Initiative America (CGI America) addresses economic recovery in the United States. CGI America brings together leaders in business, government, and civil society to generate and implement commitments to create jobs, stimulate economic growth, foster innovation, and support workforce development in the United States. Since its first meeting, CGI America participants have made more than 400 commitments, which have improved the lives of nearly 1.4 million people.

CGI also convenes an Annual Meeting, which brings together global leaders to take action and create positive social change, CGI University (CGI U), which brings together undergraduate and graduate students to address pressing challenges in their community or around the world, and, this year, CGI will also convene CGI Middle East & Africa, which will bring together leaders across sectors to take action on pressing social, economic, and environmental challenges.
