Costa Cruise Line Foundation's Role as a Socially Responsible Company Emerges Yet Again

THE COMMUNITY
Costa Cruises' role as a socially responsible Company emerges yet again, despite the global economic downturn, with a series of actions undertaken in favor of the Community. The Company's support is provided in the form of charitable contributions that include cruises donated as prizes, initiatives and various projects.
The charitable work carried out includes activities that can be subdivided as follows:
CHARITY IN FAVOR OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY
- Contribution for the Day organized by "S. Francesco da Paolo per la Charitas Santuario dei Marinai" in Genoa;
- Contribution to "Patients' Day" at the "Curia di Genova Consulta Sanità;"
- Contribution to the "Messina" Golf Tournament in favor of the Fund for Kidney Disease in Children at the Gaslini Children's Hospital, Genoa;
- Contribution to the Comunità di S. Egidio, Genoa;
- Contribution to research projects at Galliera Hospital, Genoa.
CRUISES AS PRIZES IN CHARITY LOTTERIES
Ten cruises for two are offered as prizes in the following charity lotteries:
- Italian Down Syndrome Association – Rome Section fund-raising for specific projects for autonomy and inclusion;
- Piccoli cuori del Gaslini non-profit association, fund-raising;
- Grand Local Debutants' Ball, with proceeds going to the Children's Leukemia Foundation at the Gaslini Children's Hospital, Genoa;
- Women's Committee of the Italian Red Cross - Rome Section fund-raising;
- Curia of Genoa, Day of Friendship;
- "Missioni Bulgare Chiesa di Montescosso," fund-raising initiative in favor of the missions in Bulgaria;
- "Fondazione Amici della Fenice della Venezia," in favor of the Teatro Fenice opera house in Venice;
- Sailing for children, organized by Lloyd's Register EMEA of Trieste, charity regatta in favor of children’s aid associations;
- "Indoor cycling - living without drugs" in collaboration with the Colombian Consulate in Italy;
- MUSE - Italia, in favor of the integration of primary school children.
SUPPORT ACTIVITIES IN THE CULTURAL FIELD
- Contribution to "Memento Aquila," publication dealing with the capital of Abruzzo before, during and after the earthquake, as recounted by 99 famous Italians – proceeds donated to the restoration of the Basilica di Collemaggio;
- Contribution to the Association for the Relationship between Italy and the US;
- Contribution to "200 for FAI," the group of main donors to the "Fondo per l'Ambiente Italiano" (Italian National Trust);
- Contribution to the Italian Consulate in Izmir (Turkey), for the cultural initiatives organized as part of the celebrations for Italian Republic Day in Izmir.
