ATLANTA, March 29, 2017 /3BL Media/ -- As part of the 10th anniversary of its Cox Conserves sustainability program, Cox Enterprises is announcing its support of the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition’s (ABC) Atlanta Streets Alive open streets initiative. Cox is joining Atlanta Streets Alive at the Road Captain level, supporting ABC’s efforts to develop a more livable and accessible Atlanta by making biking equitable, safe and appealing.

“We are thrilled to support the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition and Atlanta Streets Alive as we pursue the common goal of connecting our local communities,” said Cox Enterprises Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications and Administrative Services Bob Jimenez. “Our hope is to encourage Atlanta residents to enjoy the outdoors and embrace sustainable lifestyles.”

The open streets initiative is scheduled to cover nine miles of ‘open streets’ and will feature live music, games, dancing and more.

"By opening streets to people, we hope Atlantans will experience their city on foot or bike, discover something new in their backyard or across town, and gain a renewed appreciation of the simple pleasure of riding a bike," said Rebecca Serna, executive director of the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition.
