Strong company culture is integral to the growth and success of any company, and VMware is no exception. Today, VMware is honored to announce that it has been named to Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For 2018 list. The competition was fierce, and VMware is proud to hold the no. 39 spot. This is the fourth consecutive year that VMware has made the list. Not only was VMware ranked in the top 100 companies overall, but we were also recognized as no. 9 on the list of Best Workplaces in Technology.

Betsy Sutter, Chief People Officer at VMware, is delighted with the results: “This is a tremendous testament to our people, our culture and our values.”

Fortune has outlined a “Great Place to Work” as a place where employees have pride in the work that they do, feel supported and inspired by their leaders, and enjoy collaborating with their teams. Each year, Fortune bases its list on an employee survey and a “culture audit” that measures the extent to which employees experience trust, pride and camaraderie in the workplace.

VMware’s culture of innovation is fueled by people with a genuine curiosity for ongoing learning and development. We believe that individual actions matter and add up to our collective impact, making us a force for good in the global community.

“It’s our employees’ feedback, combined with our culture, that shapes our ranking on this list,” says Sutter. “I am beyond pleased to know that based on our employees’ input, our EPIC2 values are alive and well and solidly at the core of everything that we do.”

Laetitia Farrugia, Senior Program Manager for the EUC Office of the CTO, feels that VMware’s values deeply echo her own personal values. “My amazing managers infuse passion into everything they do, and they care for the people as much as they do about the business deliverables.”

VMware Sales & Partner Communications Manager Andrew Stout has been with the company for nearly four months and calls VMware’s culture “amazing.” “Every single person I’ve met has been willing to help,” says Stout. “That’s the best benefit of working here. Not only is the compensation package top-notch and competitive, but the sense of gratitude that’s threaded through every conversation and interaction is genuine and motivating. For a high-impact, fast-moving organization, VMware is a place where you can breathe, be yourself, and get amazing work done with incredible people.”

VMware’s values are a living, dynamic part of the workplace. The company comprises a team of individuals who bring their whole selves to work each day, eager to brainstorm and learn. Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For 2018 list is a reflection of the work and passion of each individual that has helped to make VMware great.
