December 19, 2016 /3BL Media/ - The National CSR Awards 2017 is delighted to announce that Lord’s Cricket Ground, the home of cricket – and the MCC, founded in 1787 – is to host the National CSR Awards 2017 dinner on Thursday 18th May.

Derek Brewer, MCC Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted to be hosting the National CSR Awards at Lord’s this year. At MCC, we work very hard to make sure Lord’s is environmentally sustainable both throughout our many match days over the summer and during the winter when the Ground is similarly busy. I hope the event is a great success and I’m sure there will be some very worthy winners.”

Karen Sutton, CEO and Founder of the National CSR Awards, added: “In the year that Lord’s hosts the ICC Women’s World Cup Final, we are thrilled the National CSR Awards 2017 will be there too. It’s a fantastic venue that upholds the same values and standards of the awards. We’ve really hit a six this year!”

MCC aims to develop and integrate good sustainability practices. Its focus is to work in partnership with key local organisations to add value to their work, and help the people they work with achieve more. The key areas of strategic priority are:
• Education and Employment
• Health and Wellbeing
• Inclusion and Cohesion

MCC is currently delivering programmes which target at least one of these priorities and developing new ideas moving forward which aim to make a sustained difference with a positive outcome to those who need it most.

Over the last four years, MCC has run free cricket coaching in local state schools, work placements to help rehabilitate ex-offenders and sporting reminiscence workshops with local people with dementia. You can read more here.
