America Recycles Day Twitter Chat: "Recycling in Every Room"

In celebration of America Recycles Day on Nov. 15, Keep America Beautiful invites members of the public to participate in two national social media events:

America Recycles Day Recycling in Every Room Twitter Chat - November 12, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. ET

Members of the public are invited to join the Keep America Beautiful network of community-based affiliates and America Recycles Day national sponsors for a Twitter chat on Nov. 12 at 8:00 p.m. (EST). Individuals are encouraged to both ask questions of the recycling experts who will be on hand and offer their own tips using the designated hashtag: #AmericaRecyclesDay.  Learn more at americarecyclesday.org/TwitterChat.

Ten randomly selected individuals who participate using the designated hashtag from a public Twitter account will receive prizes, including one grand gift bag valued at $450.

Share a Recycling “Selfie”

Individuals are invited to become recycling advocates by taking a photo of themselves recycling and posting it publicly on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Tumblr. By including the hashtag “#RecyclingSelfie,” participants are automatically entered to win one of several prizes and their photo is displayed in a gallery at americarecyclesday.org/recyclingselfie.

The goal of the campaign is for individuals to remind their online networks to recycle, and join Keep America Beautiful in making a social splash.
Ready-to-use email and social media copy for promoting the above events, as well as Keep America Beautiful’s “I Recycle Pledge” is available for download here.
